WOW! Big day in the garden. We got a lot done - everything I had hoped plus some.
Wes, Greg, Jarred, Jordan, Janet Kelly, Carol Pope, and I cleaned out all of plot 1 and planted sweet taters. And took all the weeds and stalks to the dumpster. And mulched plot 1 and various other newly planted areas.
Waiting now for plot 3 crowder peas to sprout so we can mulch them.
Next work day is Monday 430-600pm. We need to flatten the old leaf pile and move the weed pile behind thee stockade oton the compost pile in the storage area.
Nothing much to do for a while. I will water every few days when it does not rain enough, and pick whatever cukes, maters, and squarsh are ready while we wait for the purplehull peas to be ready.
As we would say in the country in the olden days, the garden has been laid by waiting on harvest.
Lots of basil needs trimming and taken to a nice home, else it will bolt!
Aint God good!
Thank You, Lord, for making perfect weather for gardening for almost a year.
