Another wonderful week in the Victory Garden. We are so blessed.
This is the first report since Tuesday a week ago July 24.
Thursday July 26, 2012, Selby, Jimmy, Patree and her niece and friend picked 29 lbs of purple hull peas and 3 lbs of maters, peppers, and eggplants and took to the Collierville Food Pantry. Total of 32 lbs. Selby did the much needed pruning of the basil which she continued this morning Aug 2.
Sunday July 29, I picked 31 lbs cantaloupes and 24 lbs maters for a total of 55 lbs which I distributed the the town parks employees in their break room on Powell Rd Monday morning.
Monday afternoon, July 30 (see 2nd photo above), Larry, Bob, and I picked 16 lbs cantaloupes, 15 lbs maters, and 17 lbs of peas for a total of 48 lbs which I delivered to Ms Julia Harris for her and her neighbors on Harris Cove.
This morning Thursday, Aug 2 (see first photo above), Selby, Jan, Patree, Larry, and I picked a total 88 lbs of peas, maters, peppers, eggplants, and cantaloupes which Patree delivered to the Food Pantry. Selby pruned the basil and Larry did some much needed weeding in plot 1, which we NEED TO COMPLETE this Monday afternoon 5pm. BIG Thanks to whomever did the mowing!!!!!
2,782 lbs YTD + 32 +55 + 48 + 88 = 3.005 lbs new YTD!
Connie and Laura continue to take zinnias to Baptist Trinity Hospice and other such places in town.
Aint God good!
