Monday
Sep 10, Patree and I picked 11 lbs of maters and peppers and greens which I
took to 204 South St. We cleaned out most of plot 6 until we were ferociously attacked by
far aints (fire ants) and forced into a strategic withdrawal. I bought killer
spray and Roundup and have applied both judiciously and with great vigor and
determination!
Thursday
Sep 13, Jan, Patree, In Sung, and I picked 35 lbs of ig beautiful peppers, egg
plants, turnip greens and mustard greens, which Patree took to the Food Pantry.
3,290 lbs YTD + 11 + 35 = 3,336 lbs YTD!!!!!!!!
3,290 lbs YTD + 11 + 35 = 3,336 lbs YTD!!!!!!!!
Connie took zinnias to the fire stations and police station
on 9/11, a wonderful gesture. Laura continues taking zinnias to Baptist Trinity
Hospice. The town will reclaim the zinnia beds on Oct 1, so feel free to cut and use them for some good cause
or situation.
Note
from the Twentieth Century Club:
The flowers
today were beautiful and we used them on each table. Afterwards, shared with
teachers (hoping they'll return our vases!)
We had another
generous $100 donation this past week bringing our fund balance to $789.39. I
have spent about $100 and need to turn those receipts in.
Also, Jan Dickey donated a large bag of many kinds of seeds.
I especially love the exotic varieties of kale.
Monday
430-6pm we need a LARGE TURNOUT to:
1.
Finish cleaning out plot 6.
2. Plant turnip greens seeds in plot 6.
3. Plant kale seeds in various nooks and crannies.
4. Pick several bushels of turnip greens and mustard greens for
Evie to take to the Memphis Food Bank.
Aint God good and Aint we having a
good time and receiving a wonderful blessing!
