Oops previous post sposed to be dated Aug 12 not Aug 1.
We've had a good week.
We will work again Satiddy morning Aug 17 0730am and again on Monday morning 0730am. We need to clean out and prepare plots 5 and 6 for planting more fall garden.
Tuesday The Master Gardener scholarship recipient did 2 of his 8 required volunteer hours cleaning pea vines out of plot 5. I picked 3 lbs peas.
Wednesday Whit mowed and trimmed.
Thursday Patree, Arlene, and I picked 24 lbs of veggies and 7 lbs of peas for total of 31 lbs which Patree took to the Food Pantry along with Monday's harvest.
Thursday Leah continued cleaning out plot 5.
Friday I picked 4 more lbs of maters and per request from the Food Pantry retrieved most of our stuff and other leftovers and delivered along Shotgun Row on South St. FP lady said they had a small crowd this week. Clients are not allowed to come every week.
Cut flower report:
Connie took a zinnia bouquet to the library, to Page Robbins, and to the West Clinic chemo lab where she is receiving treatment. Laura takes to each room at Baptist Trinity Hospice each week.
Harvest total 2013 to date:
1,280 lbs YTD + 3 + 31 + 4 lbs = 1,318 lbs new YTD.
I am getting excited about planting our fall garden. One weather prgonosticator predicts an early cold wet winter. And there is a 50-50 chance the weather will be above or below normal.
1,280 lbs YTD + 3 + 31 + 4 lbs = 1,318 lbs new YTD.
Finance report:
Balance as of 8/08/2013: 783.70.
Ain't God good.
