WOW what a wonderful productive day and all last week in the garden.
Satiddy Whit, Wes, Adam, Sue, Val and I finished pulling the pea vines and cleaning up those plots. We picked a few lbs of maters and cucumbers and purple hurl peese.
I put weed killer on the Peterson Lake zinnia patch. Sposed to not harm ornamentals and I did not spray on the flowers.
Today Cason the Master Gardener scholarship recipient continued his required volunteer hours by weeding plot 3 and raking and forking plot 4 so's we can plant greens this afternoon.
And Patree, Val, and I picked 42 lbs cukes, maters, pole beans, and purple hurl peese which Patree distributed along South St. We planted the skips in the mustard greens, stirred the soil with the small fork, and watered the greens.
Whit will try to get the baseball field tiller going today so we can lay off the rows this afternoon in plot 5 to plant more greens.
Harvest total 2013 to date:
1,318 lbs YTD + 42 lbs = 1,360 lbs new YTD.
We have lemon cucumbumbers, ornamental gourds, Minnesota midget cantaloupes, watermelons, crowder peese, purple hurl peese, aigplants, jalapeno peppers, bell peppers, basils, purple top turnips, and curly leaf mustard growing for even more harvest! Yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1,318 lbs YTD + 42 lbs = 1,360 lbs new YTD.
Finance report:
Balance as of 8/08/2013: 783.70.
Ain't God good.
