What a beautiful cool morning and wonderful light rain growing more peas and beans and maters.
Val, Les, and I picked two and a half bushels of gorgeous purple hull peas (57 lbs). I took half to Ms Julia Ferguson in Harris CV south of the tracks. She is a Food Pantry client and shares with her fellow elderly neighbors.
Other half I took to Page Robbins along with bouquet of zinnias and all proceeds from our garlic sales $246. They were happy.
Harvest total 2013 to date:
991 lbs YTD + 57 lbs = 1,048 lbs new YTD.
Last Satiddy morning I mowed and worked on cleaning up the entrance dirt pile and picked some peas and took'em home to shell and eat as a quality control process.
See you Thursday morning 0730 to pick peas again.
Ain't God good.
