Val, Vicky, and I had a beautiful cool morning to do the Lord's work. Ain't this extry hour of sunshine sooooo good!
I gleaned bags of grass clippings from curbside, and we mulched all of plot 3. We also weeded the volunteer pea sprouts and monocots from amongst the cabbiges and new greens.
We pulled most of the vines out of plot 6, ran the weedeater and have it ready for Whit to prepare the planting beds. And we laid more cardboard between the new raised wooden beds. We need quite a bit more cardboard to finish.
We also picked several odds and ends and 46 lbs of watermelons which I took to Ms Julia Ferguson on Harris Cv south of the tracks.
Connie Bogema picked the last zinnias from the Peterson Lake Rd bed and took to the Library which posted a beautiful picture of them on they Facebook page. Laura Ruth takes to the Hospice each week.

We will pick greens, Lord willing, on Thursday morning and take the trash piles to the dumpster.
We need to find another Eagle Scout candidate project. Candidate Jason Friend could not get another set of raised beds approved since it is too similar to the last project for us in the troop.
Harvest total 2013 to date:
1,936 YTD + 46 lbs = 1,982 lbs new YTD. Almost a ton!
