Victory Garden Satiddy Sep 28 2013, Next work day Monday 8am pick greens

WOW Another beautiful morning in the garden. We have sowed the seeds and now waiting on the Good Lord to give the increase.

Bari and Jane and I finished the fall planting with new hills in plot 6 planted in kale, collards, and purple top turnip greens. We also put down more cardboard on the bermudagrass patches in the walking paths. And we moved all the piles of organic material to the compost pile.

We harvested 3 lbs of maters and watermelons, and gave them to an elderly retired Master Gardener dentist with heart trouble who can now only work in flowers.

Harvest total 2013 to date:

  2,046 TD + 3 lbs = 2,049 lbs new YTD. OVER a ton!  

Monday morning 8am, Lord willing, we will harvest turnip greens.
