Victory Garden Fri Sat Oct 04-05 2013, Next work day Thursday 8am pick greens

What a beautiful morning to work in the garden on Friday and Saturday.

Friday I picked 43 lbs greens and took to the elderly retired couple (Emmons) and Ms Julia Ferguson on Harris CV. She shares with her neighbors.

Stephanie and I on Saturday weeded and thinned plots 3, 5, and 6. We planted the skipped places. We pulled the wilted 3 rows from plot 1 and 4 and replanted more carrots, mustard greens, and turnip greens. I planted some beets in plot 6. We picked some maters, peppers, and two Minnesota midget cantaloupes. I picked up seven bags of leaf and grass clippings.

Harvest total 2013 to date:

  2,049 TD + 49 lbs = 2,098 lbs new YTD. OVER a ton!  

Next work day (I am out of town) is Thursday morning 8am. Need to pick greens from plots 2 and 5 (middle two) by thinning them by half. Just pull them up. Weigh and take to the Food Pantry.

ANYTIME someone can come spread the bags of leaves and grass into the middles (low places) in plot 6 (front right).
