Today Carl trimmed, Lauryce tackled the weeds in three of the south cinder block beds and watered, and Amy and Stephanie attacked the weeds around the sweet potatoes and laid heavy paper and thick straw. They also used the rest of the surplus landscape fabric in the northside "archless" walkway between plots 5 and 6 and spread a thick layer of straw.
Tomorrow (Thursday 5 June) Carl will be at the Garden around 7:30 am to harvest mustard greens then deliver them to Collierville Food Pantry. Please join him if you are able.
On Friday, 6 June, from 9:30 am - 11 am Stephanie will be watering, spraying witch hazel, and continuing the weed fight.... and maybe harvesting some garlic. Please come if you can.
Don't forget Girl Scouts will be visiting on Tuesday from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm to weed and take care of the zinnia beds. Please assist them if you can.
