92 lbs of tomatoes, cowpeas, okra, hot pepper, corn, cantaloupe, sweet potato, cucumber:
to the Collierville Food Pantry on August 13, 2015 = 38 lbs + some garlic
to Resurrection School (a Jubilee school in Hickory Hill) on August 10, 2015 = 29 lbs (thank you Patree for delivering!)
to Ms. Julia of Harris Cove on August 15, 2015 = 10 lbs
sweet potatoes held to cure for next week's donation = 15 lbs
Total YTD harvest donation = 1822 lbs
August 10 Harvest:
On August 10, Teresa and Stephanie harvested 29 lbs of cowpeas, tomato, okra, corn, cantaloupe, pepper. Re-staked hot pepper plants that had fallen in the thunderstorms. Patree delivered to the Resurrection School (Jubilee School) in Hickory Hill.
On August 11, Stephanie worked on fallen tomato towers. Checked irrigation.
On August 12, Stephanie harvested 4 lbs of tomatoes and okra. Handwatered pole beans. Picked up/re-staked tomato tower and gave one tomato plant a haircut. Killed squash bugs/eggs on pumpkin plants. Changed new dual timer to run every other day.
On August 13, Twila, Teresa, Judy, Michelle, Stephanie harvested 34 lbs of purple hull peas, tomatoes. Teresa and Stephanie delivered a total of 38 lbs to the Collierville Food Pantry. Twila and Michelle worked in the compost area and spread finished compost in garden. Teresa and Judy harvested 15 lbs of sweet potatoes that are now curing in Stephanie's garage for next week's donation. Judy and Michelle killed lots of squash eggs and bugs on pumpkin then deadheaded the zinnia beds. Twila de-suckered the arkansas tomato plants. Sophia delivered some coffee grounds from the Donut Hutt (thank you guys!). Delayed irrigation.
Squash bug/egg patrol:
On August 15, Stephanie delayed irrigation timers. Hand-watered pole beans and tomatoes. Checked melons. Harvested 10 lbs of tomatoes, cowpeas, corn, okra. Delivered to Ms. Julia.
