Work Progress:

On Monday September 21,  Stephanie harvested 12 lbs of tomato, okra, green beans, and peppers as well as 4 lbs of mustard greens. Val delivered this harvest and 9 lbs of last week’s sweet potatoes to the Memphis Union Mission Moriah House. Divided 5 zephyr coreopsis into 12 new plants. Potted up three starts of comfrey to pass on to the Collierville Middle School Environmental Club.

On Tuesday September 22,  Leah and Stephanie filled one of the plot 3 boxes with dirt from plot 4 and some of the 10 year cow manure. Planted  moulin rouge beets (40-50). Sprayed neem and BT. Started filling empty plot 5 concrete bed with cow manure and plot 4 dirt. Divided some coreopsis and sedum. Jan ordered new wheels for the garden wagons.

On Thursday September 24,  Twila, Jan, Stephanie. Harvested 12 lbs of mustard greens, tomato, okra, pepper. Patree delivered to the Food Pantry.
In the afternoon, hosted 28 elementary school “Roots and Shoots” garden club students: they raked up composted pine needles and added them to raised beds, pulled some weeds, moved fresh compost into the garden, started more compost with some sweet potato vines, and harvested 48 lbs of sweet potatoes out of plot 5.
