Work Progress:
On Wednesday February 10, Twila, Jan, Teresa, Leah, and Stephanie. Continued inventory of plots 7 and 8 and demonstration beds. Lined archway boxes with landscape fabric. Moved garlic out of two plot 6 boxes to make way for future tomato trial plants that needed “fresh" soil. Moved clay soil into bottom bottom of archway boxes, topped with some plot 6 soil. Harvested 11 lbs of mustard greens, collard greens, and sweet potatoes. Started leveling south archway area. Counted 122 cinder block holes in the large plot 5 cinder block bed to be planted shortly with carrots.
On Thursday February 11, Jan, Twila, Teresa, Stephanie. Delivered 11 lbs to the Collierville Food Pantry. Worked on leveling south side archway area. Topped plot 5 cinder block holes with clay and soil. Removed mint from plot 5 cinderblock holes.
On Friday February 12, Jan, Twila, Teresa, Arlene, Stephanie. Continued center walkway and south archway leveling. Transplanted strawberry plants into plot 2 cinder block holes. Finished topping cinderblock holes in plot 5. Added clay soil to plot 2 large cinderblock bed. 10 cubic yards of Pro-Mix delivered to the garden. Fed birds.
On Monday February 15, Stephanie and son CJ. Made additional TP seed packets of “purple dragon” carrot seeds, “little finger” carrot seeds, and “alpine” daikon radish seeds.
