Work Progress:

On Monday March 21, Twila worked on the compost. Stephanie and son CJ worked on CVG artwork idea. Jan and Stephanie planted lots of lettuce and cabbage in plots 1 and 5. Gave one asparagus plant to an Olive Branch couple we met at the MAMG Spring Fling.

On Tuesday March 22, Jan, Twila, Arlene, Teresa, Dianne, Stephanie and an intern planted lettuce, watered in all new seedlings. Started weeding plots 7, 8. Wedded plot 4 potato rows. Started disposing straw bales. Aerated beet bed and added shredded leaf mulch then watered in.

On Wednesday March 23Twila and Jan revamped the southeast waterway to placed the last two 4' x 1' beds at the end of the south arbor.  Place the three Russian Blocking #14 Comfrey plant containers in various areas of the garden.  Divided the garden goldenrod.  With the fall goldenrod bloom we'll be able to identify the variety we have.

On Friday March 25, Twila, Teresa, Dianne,
Susannah and Jan replaced soil, perennials and mulched with pine straw at the church entrance.  Lined two 4' x 1' beds, filled 1/4 clay on bottom and a mixture of 1/2 promix and 1/4 pony manure.  Trenched irrigation extension to signage bed. Weeded 1/2 plot #8.  Added three new holding pots to the signage bed.  Divided several perennials, fertilized and watered.  Checked and turned compost.

Yukon Gold Potato (3/25)!
