On Tuesday June 14 - Teresa and Riley harvested zinnia and delivered to Page Robbins Adult Day Care Center.
On Wednesday June 15 - Twila, Teresa, Jane, and Stephanie worked with Collierville Christian Church’s Mary Beth and Claudia. Harvested 39 lbs of red and white candy onion (held for Thursday). Suckered Arkansas Traveler tomato plants and most Verona tomato plants. Painted sign bed concrete blocks. Shelled dried purple hull peas.
On Thursday June 16 - Patree, Talia, Teresa, Amy, Evelyn, Twila, Leah, Anthony, and Stephanie harvested 6 lbs of cabbage, carrot, cucumber. Patree delivered that plus 14 lbs of Wednesday’s onion to the Collierville Food Pantry. Then harvested 13 lb swiss chard, 32 lb savoy and red cabbage, 8 lb kale, cute, peppers, strawberry, 13 lb carrot, 12 more pounds of onion… 78 lbs total. Patree delivered that plus remaining Wednesday onions and dried peas, Monday’s potatoes, and a few elephant and regular garlic to Resurrection Catholic School. Planted many more cowpeas and okra and sweet potato slips as well as a few donated tomato plants. Stephanie visited the Food Pantry afterward and they are grateful for the produce and satisfied with the volume we’ve been sending. Only ‘hard sell’ vegetable to their clients is radishes. In great need for canned meat products— beef stew, chili meat, spam.
