Work Progress:
On Monday July 11 - updated email/blog. Twila, Val, Patree, Janet, Stephanie harvested 6 lbs of chard, tomato, pepper, zucchini, cucumber, eggplant for a family in need. Patree delivered. Harvested 24 lbs for Fayette County Project Outreach. Delana delivered. Weeded. Harvested 2 lbs of ungrafted celebrity tomato (4 count), 3.5 lb grafted celebrity tomato (6 count), 1.75 lb of grafted homestead tomato (4 count), 1.75 lb of ungrafted homestead tomato (4 count). Pulled/threw out an additional 3 ungrafted celebrity tomatoes (0.75 lb) due to chipmunk damage. Hand watered archway boxes.
On Tuesday July 12 - Teresa and Riley harvested and delivered 18 bouquets of zinnia.
On Wednesday July 13 - Twila and Jan worked in plots 7 and 8, discussed addition of an irrigation head in plot 8. Stephanie worked on CVG letterhead for kids that need to officially report hours. Riley and Teresa put together the new dual composter.
On Thursday July 14 - Twila, Kim, Val F., Leah, Sarah, Stephanie. Harvested 22 lbs of tomato, cucumber, eggplant, hot peppers, zucchini. Stephanie delivered to Collierville Food Pantry. Weeded until thunderstorm shooed us away.
On Saturday July 16 - Stephanie worked on tomato trial taste test forms, put a few of the verona tall supports back upright, sadly pulled and tossed 22 celebrity tomatoes (5 lbs) due to chipmunk damage, found hole and put the trap over hit, and pulled/disposed of 2 homestead grafted tomato (0.5 lb?) due to insect damage possibly stink bug. Harvested 2 lbs ungrafted homestead tomato (7 count), 1 lb grafted homestead (3 count), 5 lb grafted celebrity tomato (12 count), 5 lb ungrafted celebrity tomato (13 count). Harvested 5 lbs of ark traveler tomato and verona tomato, held for Monday’s donation.
