10 lbs harvest to a family in need on Monday August 22
7 lbs harvest to Collierville Food Pantry on August 25
9 lbs total to a family in need on Monday August 29 and September 5
37 lbs harvest (plus held sweet potatoes) to Resurrection Catholic School on Thursday September 1
8 lbs harvest on September 8 of sweet potatoes held for future donation
Work Progress:
On Monday August 22, Twila, Teresa, Leah, Mary, Stephanie. 10 lbs harvrest okra, eggplant tomato. Moved compost into plot 5 and plot 3. Planted some little finger carrot and Gonzales cabbage seeds.
On Tuesday August 23, Stephanie made more seed packets, delayed irrigation timers. Added PB to trap.
On Wednesday August 24, Stephanie made more seed packets.
On Thursday August 25, Twila, Arlene, Stephanie, Teresa harvested 7 lbs peppers, eggplant and okra. Planted Hilton cabbage main planting area of in plot 5 corner bed near spigot and Rhazes Bibb lettuce in the concrete block holes. Reseeded Hilton Cabbage seeds in center raised bed of plot 5 and purple dragon and little finger carrot seeds in concrete block holes of center plot 5 raised bed and eastern corner plot 5 holes.
On Monday August 29, Twila, Patree, and Teresa harvested 4 lbs of produce for a family in need and Patree delivered. They then weeded and began pulling cowpea vines.
On Wednesday August 31, Twila and Jan worked in the perennial beds, moved sand into a storage container, and worked in the compost area. Teresa continued pulling and disposing of cowpea vines.
On Thursday September 1, Twila, Patree, Leah, Teresa, Jan. Harvested 37 lbs okra, eggplant, peppers. Patree delivered this harvest as well as held sweet potatoes to Resurrection Catholic School. Patree, Leah, Teresa, Twila worked in plot 3 to ready boxes for planting then planted gonzales cabbage, little gem lettuce, and red romaine lettuce seeds. Continued pulling cowpea vines and covered empty concrete block bed in plot 2 with black plastic.
On Friday-Sunday September 2,3,4, Twila continued pulling cowpea vines and covering empty beds with black plastic. Hand watered newly planted seeds.
On Monday September 5, Twila and Patree harvested 5 lbs of produce for a family in need. Patree delivered. Continued pulling cowpeas in plot 6. Covered empty planting beds with black plastic. Hand watered newly planted seed beds.
On Tuesday September 6, Twila checked on the beds and hand watered where needed.
On Wednesday September 7, Twila, Jan, Teresa. Divided perennials, weeded beds, and adjusted watering. Teresa pulled more cowpea vines and weeded.
On Thursday September 8, Twila, Teresa, and Stephanie harvested 24 lbs of eggplant, okra, green beans. Stephanie delivered to the food pantry. Harvested 8 lbs of sweet potato out of large raised bed in plot 5. Planted collards and red/savoy cabbage starts in plot 5 large raised bed.
On Friday-Sunday September 9-11, Twila checked on garden and hand watered where necessary.
